Hi, I'm Mom, the Social Media Intern

What a beautiful day it is today! I think spring fever has reached epidemic proportions …the sun is shining, the air is warm, people are cooking out, riding bikes, and running. Nobody seems to be inside working EXCEPT ME!! I am sitting in front of my computer, headset on, determined to conquer the Inbound Marketing University series of 16 courses.

I am an optimistic, “glass half full” kind of person, but 16 courses!! Seriously? My biggest fear is that by the time I get to course #5, I will not remember what I learned in class #1 and there are 11 more courses with a test at the end! After 20+ years of raising a family and juggling home life with work life, it isn’t easy to switch gears and sit still long enough to fully process a thought. It is time to dust the cob webs out of my brain and learn how to absorb/retain information again.

Class #1 How to Blog Effectively for Business” really contains valuable information with a homework assignment at the end. (Is it bad that I don’t want to do the homework?!) As I am listening, my eyes keep wandering to the window and that beautiful, gloriously sunny day I am missing… A light bulb just went off, I am going to download the next lesson on to my MP3 player and head outside for a nice long walk. I can combine work WITH pleasure and probably learn a lot more in the process.
